This policy explains what information Snell Crane Service, Inc. (“Snell Crane,” “we”) collects through snellcrane.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you give us on a job, a contract or a credit application is handled under those agreements.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you use our quote request form, we collect what you enter: your name, company and company address, email, phone number, the job site address, the lift date, the lift measurements and weight, and any details you add. If you call or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours receives basic technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that sent you here. Some of it is collected by the services described below, using cookies or similar technology.
How we use it
- To answer your quote request, plan your job and contact you about it
- To understand how people find and use our website, so we can improve it
- To measure whether our Google advertising brings in calls and quote requests
- To keep the website and quote form secure and free of spam
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Services that help run the site
We use a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job for us.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, protects it from attacks, and runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that quote requests come from a person and not a bot. Quote requests are stored in a Cloudflare database.
- Mailgun delivers quote requests from the website to our team by email.
- Google Analytics shows us how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and whether a quote request was sent or a phone number was tapped.
- Google Tag Manager and Google Ads measure whether visits from our Google ads lead to calls or quote requests, and may be used to show our ads to people who have visited the site.
Some pages also include content from other services, such as a Google Maps map on our contact page and videos from YouTube or Vimeo in some news posts. Those services receive information from your browser when that content loads, under their own privacy policies. Links to other websites, including dochoist.com and our social media pages, are covered by those sites’ policies, not this one.
Cookies and your choices
Google Analytics and Google Ads use cookies. The first time you visit, a banner lets you turn either one off, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is saved in your browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to turn both off.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or manage ad personalization in your Google account.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept in our website database for 12 months and then deleted automatically. A copy is also emailed to our team and may be kept with our job and customer records for as long as we need it for that work and for our business and legal obligations. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics settings.
How we protect it
The website is served only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to quote requests is limited to the people at Snell Crane who need them. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive information, such as payment card or bank details, through the quote form.
Your requests
You can ask us what personal information we have from you through this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep information we’re required to keep by law or need for an active job.
Children
Our website is for businesses and adults planning crane, rigging and hauling work. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
