Cranes for the Kent Valley

Snell Crane Service sets rooftop units, process equipment, precast and telecom gear across Kent, Auburn, Tukwila and SeaTac. Most valley jobs need a lift that works around trucks, docks and tenants who keep running, and our boom trucks and truck cranes are built for that.

Our project managers handle your lift from site visit to permits, and our NCCCO-certified operators are available 24/7, including shift changes and weekend shutdowns.

Local Know-How

Warehouse Country Conditions

The Green River valley is one of the region's biggest warehouse and distribution areas, and its sites have their own challenges: busy truck courts, tilt-up walls with little room on one side, wide roofs that push the pick out to a long radius, and soft valley soils that call for proper outrigger mats. We check ground bearing, overhead power and truck traffic before we set up.

SR-167 runs the length of the valley with I-5 and I-405 on either side, so cranes reach Kent, Auburn and Renton sites without going through downtown Seattle. Near Sea-Tac Airport, cranes may need an FAA notice before they go up, and we build that into the lift plan and schedule.

Local Project

From the Job Site

Just west of Kent, we used a 55-ton boom truck to set a cell site in SeaTac. Boom trucks set up in a smaller footprint than an all-terrain crane, which is why we lean on them for telecom and rooftop work around the valley.

FAQ

Kent Questions

Can you lift rooftop units while our warehouse stays open?

Yes. We plan the setup and swing path to keep docks and truck lanes clear, and we can schedule the lift for a night, weekend or shift change. We're open 24/7.

Do cranes near Sea-Tac Airport need FAA approval?

Cranes near the airport may need an FAA notice and determination before they go up. We check this during planning and build the timing into your schedule, so the crane isn't held up on lift day.

Which crane is right for a Kent warehouse roof?

It depends on the weight of the unit and how far it sits from the edge of the roof. Many valley rooftop sets fall within our boom truck and truck crane range, and heavier picks move up to the 135-ton LTM 1120. Our project managers size the crane from a site visit.
